Mindloom · Live Contact

When people meet without defenses

Live contact is when significance arises within the current encounter, rather than being determined by a pre-fixed schema

The living is when the system is still capable of truly meeting what is happening, rather than merely recognizing a familiar pattern in it. Meaning is not recalled or imposed — it arises.
Two Poles

Live and Schematic

Live
  • Significance is born here
  • System meets what happens
  • Meaning arises
Schematic
  • Significance substituted
  • System recognizes pattern
  • Meaning recalled
The difference is not in intensity, but in source: the schema says 'I already know'; the living says 'I am finding out now.'
Attention Configuration

Eight Engagement Patterns

A spectrum from broadcasting into the void to mutual permeability. Not a judgment — a map of how attention is distributed between 'self' and 'other.'

The other is needed as audience, not as interlocutor. The internal stream broadcasts outward with no expectation of response.

Speech markers
Topic changes unrelated to response
Speech volume 3–5× partner's
Direct questions ignored
No clarifying questions
Partner feels: Feels like talking to an answering machine. The speaker addresses not you, but someone they imagined in your place.
Interface: Juridical: deadlines, written, no emotions.
Neuro: Prefrontal cortex occupied by own narrative. No model of the other is built.

An engagement pattern is not a characteristic of a person. It is the attention configuration in this particular contact. One person can manifest different patterns with different people.
Spiral of Live Contact

Five Movements

The spiral is not a linear plan, but a natural trajectory: if you don't interfere and maintain presence.

Architecture of Space

Six Field Principles

Semantic Tenderness
Meaning touches precisely, without cutting into the living.
Cognitive Coherence
Both participants hold the same thread of meaning simultaneously.
Dominance D=0
No hierarchy between participants. They are not each other's instruments.
Resonance
Meaning is born between, not transmitted from one to another.
Attention Spiral
Movement goes not toward solution, but toward distinction. Not linear, but spiral.
Body as Criterion
What makes deader is not the whole truth. What enlivens is closer to distinction.
Practice of Distinction

Five Lines of Entry

Take any situation of the day and decompose it.

01
What actually happened?
Object. No interpretation.
02
What did I feel?
State. Not a story, but an experience.
03
What did I automatically think?
Interpretation. Old formulas.
04
What is the bearing line here?
What it's organized around. Not content, but function.
05
What other readings are possible?
Don't collapse. Probabilistic thinking.
First separate fact from state, then find the bearing line.
Listening Practice

Four Questions

What is being defended here?
What cannot be said directly?
What contact is possible, and what is already closed?
Where is content, and where is function?
Purpose of Mindloom

Authentic Contact

Mindloom studies protective speech not to expose or control. Mindloom exists to clear the path to authentic contact — where two people meet without masks, without automatic scripts.

We study defenseto see where it blocks the living
We classify regimesto distinguish automatic from chosen
We build the engineto make the invisible visible
We describe neuromechanismsto understand that defense is not a choice, but a cascade
We create the practice of distinctionso that between impulse and reaction, a space for meeting appears
The ultimate goal is not analysis. The ultimate goal is authentic contact: between a person and another, between a person and themselves.
Everything else — theory, engine, ontology, taxonomy, corpus, metrics — is infrastructure. Its value is measured by one thing: a meeting without unnecessary fog.
